2019 has been a great year for Panama City Beach, Florida!
One of the most significant events was the opening of a brand new, multi-million dollar state-of-the-art Sports Complex. Here in Panama City Beach, Florida we are typically known for our 27 miles of beautiful white-sand beaches and crystal-clear emerald-green waters.

Now, thanks to being home to the ULTIMATE location for sports on the Florida Panhandle, we have another feather in our cap. The Panama City Beach Sports Complex is a brand-new $37 million world-class sports complex.
It’s conveniently located just short drive from the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort. That means that guests playing in the games and tournaments there can finish their game, and be floating around the indoor lazy river ride in less than 20 minutes!
The new sports complex provides players and their families who are visiting on “play-cation” a taste of the world-Class experience Panama City Beach has to offer.
The Sports complex sits on an impressive 160 acres of premium, flexible space. It gives visiting teams, players and coaches with a unique event and training experience.
Key Features
Some of the key features of the brand new sports complex include:
- 13 configurable multipurpose rectangular fields.
- 5 multipurpose full-size collegiate baseball fields.
- 10 fields for softball and youth baseball.
- 9 synthetic turf fields.
- 4 natural grass fields.
- AstroTurf with Z-Cap Cooling Technology on 9 of the 13 fields.
- LED Lighting on all 13 fields.
- On-site concessions with food and drinks.
- Over 1,000 parking spots.
The Panama City Beach Sports Complex aims to become the center of soccer in the Southeast. Between August and December 2019 alone, the complex hosted over 800 soccer teams in more than 15 tournaments!
If you play other sports though, don’t worry, it’s not just for soccer players. The complex’s intelligent design also makes it possible to play lacrosse, football, baseball, softball, ultimate frisbee and even quidditch. So apparently, muggles are welcome to play too! 🙂
Great News for the Area…
A recent study by Sports Facility Management projects a huge economic impact in Panama City Beach, Florida of $23.2 million for the first year. That is made up of 81,611 non-summer visitors as the contributors to 60,000 room nights.
The Sports Complex has also brought in hundreds of additional new jobs for the area.
