Liza’s Kitchen is a family owned gourmet sandwich restaurant. The owners, Mike and Cat Meek had a dream to open their own restaurant after exploring the states to establish a great culinary background. They finally made their way back to their hometown of Panama City Beach, FL and opened for business in 2006. Liza’s has been a success since the doors opened. The second you walk in you know it’s going to be good too, as you are greeted with big smiles from the staff!
The artisan sandwich menu has just about anything you can think of; there are 10 cold sandwich options, 10 hot options and 10 more vegetarian options. Not in the mood for a sandwich? Well don’t worry, sandwiches aren’t the only thing that they are good at making. There are soups, salads, appetizers, and even a weekend breakfast menu.
The Hippie Chick!
If you can’t decide, you can always just build your own sandwich… Or just ask what the local favorite is! Probably the Hippie Chick 🙂 This well-known, locally-loved sandwich (along with all the others on the menu) is handmade the second you order it! The Hippie Chick is made with roasted chicken, goat cheese, spinach, roasted red pepper, and spicy mayo on focaccia bread… Is your mouth watering yet?!
Another of the favorites from the menu is the hot Italian- Parisi with a side of fresh fruit! This meat lovers sandwich is stacked high with just about everything… Capicola, salami, ham, provolone, tomato, pesto and balsamic vinaigrette.
One thing you’ll notice, is that Liza’s Kitchen doesn’t cut corners when it comes to quality. The focaccia bread that many of the sandwiches come on is made fresh in-house daily. Once you bite into your sandwich, or take the first sip of your soup, you know that you are enjoying great quality food. Liza’s prides itself on making every meal to be as enjoyable as the last.
Cooking Class at Liza’s
Liza’s Kitchen is more than just a place to eat, Chef Mike Meek shares his gourmet cooking skills with everyone in his cooking class. Reservations are required but totally worth it! It’s a great way watch a gourmet meal prepared right before your eyes, as you enjoy a wine that has been carefully selected to match the meal (Attention Parents: this is a great way to give yourself a break from the kids and enjoy a date night.)
