Back in 2005, when the first Emerald Coast Cruizin’ Car Show took place here in Panama City Fl, it was instantly obvious that there was enough interest, chrome, and candy-colored paint to make a successful event.
6 years later, and Panama City Beach is hard at work making preparations to see that the 7th annual Car Show is the biggest and best yet.
2011 is expected to bring more classic cars, stunning hot rods, and custom cars and trucks to Panama City, Fl than ever before. Dubbed as “The South’s Best Blast from the Past” the Car Show really is a fun event that’s perfect for the whole family – from young kiddos to the grandparents.

So where does all the action take place?
The 2011 Emerald Coast Cruizin’ Car Show takes place November 7th – 12th at Frank Brown Park (located just over a mile from the Sandpiper).
For just $10 (12 and under go for free) you can to see thousands of lovingly restored classic cars, unique custom cars and trucks and shiny chrome glistening in the sun as far as the eye can see.
Dozens of automotive vendors are also on hand, selling pretty much any kind of auto-related part or service you can imagine… from spark plugs and polish, to window tinting, custom interiors, and body kits.
So if you’re looking for that part you’ve needed for a few months, chances are you’ll be able to find a vendor who can help you.
“But I don’t have a classic car… In fact my car sucks!”
Don’t worry… What makes the Car Show event so great, is that even if you’re not a car enthusiast, and you aren’t among the hundreds of people who bring “their baby” to the beach, you can still enjoy and appreciate the impressive beauty of these stunning cars. I mean, who wouldn’t?!
After all, it’s not every week you get the opportunity to witness decades of classic American automotive history in such beautiful surroundings. Plus, you don’t even have to be a professional photographer, but expect to feel compelled to snap dozens of photos of cars you’ve only ever seen on TV, or in the movies.

“Ok, so cool cars… I get it – but what else is there?”
Some of the other exciting events to check out, include the swap-meet and auto auction… just make sure you don’t scratch your nose at the wrong time, or you might end up bidding on a hot-pink 1950’s Cadillac!
And you don’t want to forget the burn-out and flame-throwing contests (trust me). PLUS you can even meet with celebrities… Linda Vaughn, the first lady of drag racing will be making a special appearance, to chat and pose for photos.
The Main Event
At the heart of all the “Emerald Coast Cruizin” action has to be the Car Show & Awards Ceremony, held on Saturday. If you do have a car entered, you’re in with a chance of winning a piece of a massive $10,000 in prize money! Entrants can enter their cars into one of several different categories, so you have plenty of chances of getting your hands on some cash. And let’s face it, money won is sweeter than money earned!
Having been involved from the very beginning, the Sandpiper Beacon is excited for this year’s Car Show.
As always, live bands and entertainment can be found in the tropical Tiki Bar on the beach, as well as on-site vendors on the property.
